Thom Artway (Tomáš Maček by own name) is a Czech pop folk musician. He is a part of the
modern songwriters’ generation that grew up with guitars in their hands in the streets of a world metropolis. Thom started his career busking in Prague and after that in Sydney, Australia where he spent over half a year playing music and travelling.
First time he succeded with his debut single I Have No Inspiration which became a hit in 2015. The song kept its top position in Czech music charts for more than one and half a year. Mainly thanks to this hit song, Thom became Best New Artist in Žebřík 2015 – the awards organised annually by music server iReport. Songs “Blind Man” and “Conformity” followed shortly after, heralding his first album Hedgehog, which came out in autumn 2016 under Warner Music. For this album, Thom received two Anděl awards in 2016 in the categories Singer Of The Year and The Best New Artist.
In 2017 Thom made a guest appearance at two Glen Hansard’s shows, with Glen himself choosing him as his supporting act. In July 2017, Thom won the prestigious international music project called Czech Fresh, he gained cooperation with the renowned world booking agency United Talent Agency, recording days at Sono Records Studio, shooting in YouTube Space Studio in London and an attendance at foreign festivals in the next two years.
